Tenor Christopher Puckett has maintained an active career as both a performer and teacher throughout the past decade. Equally at home on the operatic stage or in the concert hall, he has sung leading roles in Amahl and the Night Visitors, The Turn of the Screw, Così fan tutte, Cendrillon, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Little Women, Mozart’s Requiem, Handel’s Messiah, and Mendelssohn’s Elijah. He holds a particular interest in the works of Johann Sebastian Bach and has frequently appeared as a soloist in Bach’s works, particularly as the Evangelist in the St. Matthew Passion. A champion of new music, he has also been featured in numerous world and regional premiers. He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory and currently serves as Assistant Professor of Music and the Head of Vocal Studies at Westminster College.
